At Mother of Apostles Seminary (MOAS), we believe in the power of sports to shape well-rounded individuals. Our robust sports program is designed not only to keep our students physically active but also to instill values such as teamwork, discipline, perseverance, and leadership. Here’s an overview of the diverse sports activities that bring vibrancy to our seminary life:
Football is a cherished tradition at MOAS. Our students participate in inter-school and regional tournaments, showcasing exceptional skill and sportsmanship. Regular practice sessions, guided experienced coaches, ensure students hone their abilities while learning the value of teamwork and strategy.
Track and field events are integral to our sports program. Students compete in sprints, long-distance races, relays, and field events such as javelin and high jump. Athletics encourages individual excellence while fostering a spirit of healthy competition.
While not a traditional sport, chess is a highly regarded activity at MOAS. It sharpens the mind, enhances strategic thinking, and teaches patience. Our students participate in local and regional chess tournaments, often earning accolades.
Volleyball teaches coordination, communication, and resilience. Our students enthusiastically participate in both indoor and outdoor volleyball matches, with teams regularly competing in local tournaments.
Basketball is one of the most popular sports among our students. This fast-paced game helps them develop agility, precision, and teamwork. We have been to regionals and nationals severally. It’s a game we cherish and adore.
Lawn tennis is more than just a game; it’s a platform to cultivate sportsmanship discipline, and a competitive spirit. This is one of our best indoor game. Qualifying to regionals has been our achievement also yet it’s still new in our school. We believe we will be in nationals and east Africa sooner than later.
Hockey is one of the most vibrant and dynamic sports at MOAS, combining physical endurance, strategic thinking, and teamwork. The school boasts well-maintained hockey facilities that ensure students have an ideal environment to train and play. MOAS actively participates in local, and regional hockey tournaments, giving students the opportunity to showcase their talents and gain competitive experience.
This is a sport that has been recently embraced. Although MOAS, lacks dedicated swimming facilities, this has not hindered the passion for developing swimming skills among the students. Instead, the seminary has embraced innovative approaches to ensure that students still gain exposure to this life-saving and enriching sport. Our students have gone to regional and believe in their passion That was deemed a great achievement.

The grounds of Mother of Apostles Seminary (MOAS) came alive on Monday, 7th July 2025, during a much-anticipated friendly match and sports day that brought together the entire seminary community in a spirit of unity, fun, and fraternity.
The day began in a spiritually uplifting way with Holy Mass at 9:00 a.m., celebrated in the seminary church. The Mass focused on gratitude and unity, reminding all participants that true sportsmanship begins with humility, love, and the joy of being together as a family in Christ. The homily encouraged everyone to use their gifts—physical and spiritual—for the glory of God and the service of one another.
Following Mass and a light break, the sports activities kicked off with great enthusiasm. The seminary’s expansive grounds were transformed into a vibrant arena filled with cheers, laughter, and friendly competition.
The friendly match day at Mother of Apostles Seminary was not just about sports—it was a celebration of community, vocation, joy, and unity. It reminded all present that while we strive for holiness and service, taking time for fellowship and recreation strengthens the bonds that make us a true Christian family. Indeed, it was a day to remember—where faith met fun, and hearts were uplifted on and off the field.
